Parker attended his first professional sporting event - a game between the Washington Nationals and the Chicago Cubs. Like Parker, the Nats stadium is brand new. Final score: Nats 2 Cubs 0. Lesson learned: babies don’t like loud cheering or fireworks!
Parker went to the doctor this week. He is now 27 inches long and weighs 16.2 pounds. The doctor says he’s doing great! He likes baths and all sorts of other adventures. Photo courtesy of my brother Rob.
This weekend Parker ate his first solid food. Rice cereal, which looks and tastes a bit like wallpaper paste. He seemed a little suspicious at first, but seems to be buying into the idea of eating from a spoon. We are learning this whole process is a lot more messy than feeding him from a bottle. By the time the bowl is empty, we ALL need a bath!
Parker is a happy little guy. He laughs a lot these days. Lately he’s amused by the word “pasta”. Last night he had his longest night of sleep ever - 7:30pm until 7am! He woke up smiling and so did his moms!

Today Parker visited the Tidal Basin to see the cherry blossoms. He seemed to enjoy touching the low hanging blossoms. The 3,000 cherry trees were a gift from Japan back in 1912. We saw about 2000 of the 3000 trees today. We’re saving the rest for next year!
Parker looks a bit stressed. It’s understandable. This is the first time he’s ever worn shoes! He seems to be checking them out. The Easter outfit is courtesy of Grandma and Pappy Parker. They’re also responsible for the bunny!

Last night Parker rolled over for the first time! He’s been working on it for weeks. However, now he’s mad that he’s stuck on his stomach and doesn’t know how to roll back over. It’s a classic case of ‘be careful what you wish for’.
Yes, spring is in the air, but Parker is modeling his first cardigan.
